R Storage Engineer (Open)

Job Summary

The Storage Engineer is responsible for the management and maintenance of the data storage systems along with the support of a 24/7 operation. This position also works closely with Senior Storage Engineers and Management to select technology platforms and provide input to long term planning and architecture for storage resources.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Manages the Storage Area Network and Network Attached Storage to ensure availability and capacity requirements are met.

  • Manages and maintains data backup infrastructure to provide reliable restore capabilities to data owners.

  • Perform other duties as required and assigned by manager and upper management.

  • Follow legal policies as directed.

  • Experience implementing and supporting new technologies and understanding of associated business implications with a basic amount of supervision.

  • Ability to execute multiple projects/tasks & deadlines effectively with supervision.

  • Minimum of 7 years current experience supporting Windows & Linux storage subsystem components in mission critical production environments.

  • Experience with Windows CIFS/SMB protocols, Windows volume striping/concatenation, MPIO, CIFS file locks, DFS namespace, NTFS 4+ FS security.

  • Experience with nix storage administration, NFS protocol, file uploading/downloading, FS security.

  • Expert knowledge of storage system management tools and software.

  • Experience with storage system performance analysis troubleshooting & resolution of complex problems.

  • Experience with backup/restore and archiving of data in a large environment, including both disk and tape backups and restores.

  • Demonstrate understanding of relationship storage systems have with associated business processes.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills along with analytical and organizational skills.

  • Experience with Linux system administration.

  • Ability to understand and write scripts in Python, Perl, Django, and/or Shell.

  • Basic understanding of how a website functions.

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
